Public Gardens are places that one stumbles upon, visits regularly or perhaps even on a special occasion. Our intention is that these gardens are welcoming and radiate warmth in all seasons. People stroll and admire what is in bloom, find inspiration and respite. The attraction to beauty is universal. That’s why we feel privileged to be involved with these gardens.

Waterwise Garden

Bellevue Botanical Garden, Bellevue, WA

We designed the Waterwise Garden at the Bellevue Botanical Garden  www.bellevuebotanical.org/waterwise.html nearly 20 years ago for the City of Bellevue, as a new idea: a beautiful garden with conservation as it’s core value. Today the garden is more relevant than ever as more and more people seek to employ “green gardening” practices and conserve resources in their home landscapes. Stenn Design has worked with Bellevue Utilities since the garden’s inception developing educational programs, working with volunteers to maintain the garden, and renewing it over time.

Dragonfly Garden with Lorna Jordan

Longfellow Creek Park, Seattle, WA

Generous sweeps of low shrubs and perennials provide a habitat for the dramatic, sculptural dragonfly pavilion designed by Lorna Jordan. This project involved a large multi-disciplinary design team of which Stenn Design provided Planting Design. Longfellow Creek Park is part of the City of Seattle’s Urban Creeks Legacy Project that includes restoration of historic salmon runs in five Seattle watersheds.
